A Shivering Heart

It's winter once again now
The city covered in white
I try so hard to forget
You're not here with me tonight

Memories of us I remember
Together, hand in hand
Each night an adventure
Unscripted and unplanned

This truth I still believe -
Love warms the shivering heart
But now I must accept
Tonight we are now apart

I walk these streets alone now
under snowflakes and city lights
I walk and think of you now
I miss you this winter night

L-O-V-E & ROXY!

I did an impromptu BlogTV broadcast last night. The first in almost 3 weeks. Doing a broadcast is primarily my way of destressing, given the fact I'm not exactly one of those people who goes out at night 'til the wee hours in the morning. (Well, at least not most of the time.)

I did my usual singing and dancing schtick, including the staple L-O-V-E routine.

The screencaps above were taken from last night by LilBabyRox - a 16 year old aspiring singer from Quebec who has become a regular viewer of the channel. Much much apppreciated. See her perform on my BlogTV channel here.

And to give you an idea what the L-O-V-E routine looks like in action, watch the video below, recorded from a previous broadcast over a month ago...

Here's LilBabyRox (or simply "Roxy") performing "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen.

I am ME.

This is who I am
some may call it strange
This is who I am
There's nothing I would change

I force you not
to like what you see
This is who I am
I am me, I am me

I Wanna Karaoke 'n Roll All Night!

I'm going out tomorrow night with someone. Dinner and karaoke. I haven't sang karaoke in a while so it should be quite an evening. Maybe I'll stick to my staple karaoke songs by Sinatra or some Bryan Adams. We're going to Koreatown so I'm assuming (and hoping) the karaoke bars there have a decent and updated selection of english songs.

Reading this on Facebook? Click here to watch the videos:

Maybe I'll start the night with this one...

She says she's gonna sing this one...

I can't wait. So excited. Maybe there will be pictures and videos. Maybe. ^_^

The Little Prince

I'm doing a 10-page paper based on the classic children's story "The Little Prince" by Antione De Saint-Exupery. I've had this copy for about 8 years now and I still read it every now and then. For those of you who may not be familiar with the book, it's about a pilot landing in the Sahara meeting a little prince. The stories the prince tells of his own planet are quite unforgettable.

What's so special about the novel is how it goes far beyond its narrative and tackles various themes about human nature and philosophy. The beautiful way the novel presents these themes makes both children and adults appreciate the lessons within the story.

I highly recommend this novel to anyone who likes to embrace their inner youth and appreciate good stories that universally reach out to both kids and adults. A must-read.

Have you read The Little Prince? Know someone who has?

JOHNNY'S FIRST KISS!

Ah...the first kiss. Possibly one of the most memorable moments of your entire life. It's something you're going to compare to all the kisses you're gonna get and give from here on out. I'm sure everyone who's had the chance to pucker up still remembers their story about when, where, and how they got their first real smooch.

Here's mine...

It happened during a date with a girl who later became my first gf. We figured we'd get a souvenir on one of those photobooths that turn your pictures into stickers. We sat inside the booth and right before we started the machine I asked her a question:

"Um, can I kiss you...on the lips?"

And then we kissed..French style. I didn't even need to practice or anyhing. It just came very natural to me. Awesome. Hehe.

Yes, I asked permission to get my very first kiss. Adorable and lame, I know. But, the story still makes me smile thinking about it after all these years.

What about you? Share your first kiss stories. Don't be bashful now.

Happy Valentine's Day! ^.^

Silent Moments

We sat down by the harbour
as the sun begins to fade;
You layed your head on my shoulder
On that bench, together, we stayed

Neither of us spoke
as the orange sky began to spread;
Certain things are better off
being felt than being said

You held my hand and smiled
I closed my eyes and sighed
We shared a conversation
from deep within inside

Moments like this are rare
So precious, so pure, so true
I thank the setting sun
I got to share this with you

Fly Heart Fly

Let your heart run free
Let it flutter across the sky
Let it take you to a place
where love can freely fly

Let your heart wander
Let it find its own way
Let it lead you to a place
where love can grow and play

There is something you should know
a secret meant just for two -
I just sent out my heart today...
I asked it to search for you

My heart longs for your love
It's never been the same
It's crying out loud now...
It's calling out your name

Sad Writer's Friends

My mind is being filled with words
my hands, my fingers
too slow to catch up
I need to write as much as I can
This is MY way to comfort myself
To write

Music is playing in the background
Maybe something to pump myself up
I need encouragement
Even if it comes from within

The last few hours have been tough
My world was surrounded with sadness
with despair, with sorrow
No one to turn to
No one to hold onto

Now I've found my outlet
My source of new strength
It is the letters before me
These symbols and shapes
turned into thoughts and emotions

Words and writing have always been my friends
my silent friends
Always there to give me comfort
Or is it me, or my thoughts, that's giving me comfort?
Am I helping myself, unconsciously?

Perhaps.
I don't know.
Maybe.

These words, so precious to me
Now more than ever
I find solice in the idea
that I will always have words to write
thoughts to share
emotions to put down on paper

As long as my fingers can keep up
I'll be just fine.

Perhaps.
I don't know.
Maybe.

Then again
I don't mind having someone
to hold onto
whilst I share my thoughts
on paper

Perhaps it might be you.
I don't know if it will be you.
Maybe it won't be you.
We shall see.

For now, I'm just alone
Just sitting here
with my friends:

These Letters in front of me
My Thoughts I have inside
and the Words I will
eventually write

The Clown Comes Home To Weep

The clown was crying today
but no one saw him do so
That's not how people knew him
His laughter was what made him glow

His tricks made people smile
His dancing made people cheer
His jokes made people holler
Again and again, they wanted to hear

But tonight the clown was somber
His joy pulled out of his heart
A sad moment was before him
His heart was ripped apart

He does not wish to do tricks
nor does he want to dance around
He does not wish to tell jokes
This quiet night, tears are all that's abound
